Builder/chimney question

Hi,

I'm wanting to renew my kitchen and there's a redundant chimney which I'd
like to remove from the ground and possibly first floors to make more
space. I'm a bit nervous about it because it's adjoining with next door and
I understand there can be potential disasters because of all the weight
from the chimney above/next door.

Do you know of a reliable builder who might have experience in this (there
are other building questions connected with the kitchen porch too, so it
won't just be the chimney)? If you have any experience of, or sources of
info for removing sections of chimney, that would be great too!
