Community Land Trust

TerraceA CLT is a not-for-profit venture, in which the local community acquires land or property, with a view to providing facilities and affordable housing for local residents - in perpetuity.

CLTs have a long history (and are very successful in America).

A National Demonstration Project has been set up, based at Salford University (and mentioned in the recent Housing Green Paper), focusing on seven rural and seven urban pilot CLTs - of which HDT’s is one.
